Bhasma - Sacred Ash

The sacred texts have said that women should use bhasma made from the dried dung of desi cows, into which mantra-s have not been chanted. We managed to find a wonderful Goshala in Keralam which makes these very type of bhasma-s. This bhasma is ideal for women to wear the Tripuṇḍra as explained in the Stri Dharma book. ​

Bhasma is called āgneya, and our revered shastras ordain that it sanctifies the wearer. When worn as a Tilaka, it helps regulate digestive fire and also dissolves any negative / unpleasant thoughts directed towards the wearer. When mixed with water and sprinkled, it sanctifies the home.
