Spaces that belong

Architecture begins with listening to the land, the climate, the materials, and the people. We look at vernacular ways of building not as relics of the past, but as a living knowledge of craft and resources. Sustainability is not an addition; it is embedded in how spaces are imagined, built, and lived.

Learning from the land

Every place already carries its own wisdom.

The direction of the sun, the movement of air, the quality of soil, the availability of materials, the traditions of its people — all of these become part of how we understand a space.

We look at vernacular architecture not as a style to reproduce, but as a knowledge system to learn from.

The hand is part of the architecture

We believe there is value in making things slowly and understanding materials through the hand.

Our own practice extends into workshops and hands-on exploration of cob, mud flooring, lime plaster, stone arches, brick vaults and natural building techniques.

This learning shapes how we design.

We don't just draw materials.
We touch them, test them, build with them and learn from them.

Vernacular, not nostalgic

We believe traditional knowledge does not belong only to the past.

A vernacular approach can evolve with contemporary life — retaining the intelligence of traditional construction while responding to today's needs.

We therefore explore old techniques with curiosity, experiment with them and allow them to find new expressions in the spaces we create.

Building with what is around us

We are drawn to materials that are close to the earth and honest in their expression — mud, lime, brick, stone, bamboo, timber, terracotta and reclaimed materials.

These materials bring texture, warmth and imperfection into a space. More importantly, they connect the building to the hands that made it and the place from which it came.

Our portfolio reflects this exploration through mud walls and floors, lime and tadelakt finishes, brick vaults, stone arches, wattle and daub, bamboo and natural pigments.

Spaces for living, not just looking

A building becomes meaningful through the life that unfolds inside it.

Light moving across a mud wall.
A shaded verandah in the afternoon.
A child discovering a niche.
Plants growing around a courtyard.
A family gathering under a bamboo roof.

These ordinary moments are what make a space alive.

Our work therefore begins with people — their rhythms, relationships, memories and everyday rituals. The portfolio describes this people-centred approach as creating environments that honour both nature and human connection.

Kiran Bhale

Kiran’s journey began in construction and planning, gradually opening into natural building and spatial design through an exploration of vernacular materials and traditional ways of making.
Photography emerged alongside this journey, becoming a way of observing and expressing light, space, nature, and everyday life.

Let’s create spaces that belong.

Have a space, an idea, or simply a thought you would like to explore? We would love to hear from you.

At Tattva Inspiring Spaces, we believe meaningful spaces begin with a conversation — understanding the place, the people, the way of living and the possibilities held within the materials around us.

Whether you are imagining a natural home, a vernacular space, an interior, or a thoughtful intervention, write to us. Let’s explore what your space can become, together.

Tell us about your space.
We’ll begin from there.
